Urban Decay Naked 2

DSC_5282DSC_5281  Recently I wrote about the new Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye palette that is all mattes.  It raised a question for a good palette that has shimmer.  A good classic mainly shimmer palette is the Urban Decay Naked 2.  Urban Decay has 3 different palettes that look like this. All 3 are very different.  The Naked 2 Palette has 12 shadows and a double ended eyeshadow brush.  This is an easily blendable palette that would be a great addition to any person’s makeup collection.  The brush that is in the compact is a relatively nice brush.  The container is a metal container that is very sturdy.  This would be a great travel compact.  In fact it’s my travel eyshadows.

The palette has 12 shades:DSC_5279DSC_5280

Foxy is a matte highlighter very slightly yellow.  It’s a good basic highlighter that would work for many people.

Half Baked is a neutral shimmer.  This shade has amazing color payoff.

Bootycall is a light shimmer highlight with a slight peach tint

Chopper is a copper shimmer, also has a great color payoff.

Tease is a mocha matte color.  Although this color is wonderful the texture of this shadow is my least favorite in the palette.  It doesn’t blend as easy or go on as smoothly as the other shades in the palette.  So build the intensity slowly with this shadow and make sure you use a brush.  It is blendable, but it does take effort.

Snake is a brown shimmer.  A very deep lovely shimmer shadow.

Verve is a platinum shimmer

Busted is a deep brown that has a warm tone.

Black is a great black that can be worn to also build more intensity of some of the other shades.  It is a nice rich black with a matte finish.
